Psyche is the soul, the beauty, the truth, the princess in the fable of the metamorphosis of Apuleius.
Psyche loses Eros, the promised husband, for having wanted to contemplate him in spite of the prohibition. It is the history of the lovers to whom the contact fulfillment is never allowed, it is the myth of an insurmountable distance.
